Uranium Back-up is a software that can be used to produce back-up copies, synchronization, network transfers, zip compressions, CD and DVD writing, database back-up and tape back-up.

This software was maked to be one of the most complete programms when it comes to back-up and transfer of directories and files to various destinations. • Backup security of locked files: on Windows Server 2003 operating systems Uranium is capable to copy on tape any open/locked/system file using Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS).

• Cartridges always usable: Uranium allows to administer cartridges with incredible handiness: in fact these don’t have to be formatted or tagged. The restore of info can be performed from any PC in which is installed Uranium, because all back-up details are stored in the tape.
• Detailed logs of any operation: each time that Uranium fulfil a back-up, it creates a log file containing detailed details about back-up, like for example the number of copied files, the total size of copied files, the average speed, the start and the end time, the windows logged PC user, etc….
• Update of websites: since it is possible to fulfil upload procedures without compression, the program is capable to transfer an unlimited number of files and directories maintaining their original structure. With this function is possible to produce automatic updates of entire websites with a easy click. • Creation of customized folders: when we copy files and directories to a destination we can choose a customized name for the back-up directory, for example the weekday name, the number of the day in the month, a special name, the name of the current windows PC user, etc… So in this path we can produce differed and prefectly neat backups.
• File System Monitor: Uranium can monitor all changes to back-up items on the file system. For example: if a directory that is part of a back-up is renamed/moved/deleted, Uranium immediately notify the PC user about possible errors due to that modification.

• Automatic logging into network shares: Uranium can execute automatically a logon procedure (with PC user name and password) to access network shared directories. In this path it can fulfil copy operations also to network directory in which PC user doesn’t have permissions normally. At the end of back-up, for safety reasons, authentication info is removed from system cache and so network shares are made again inaccessible.

It doesn’t need any external prerequisite in order to work, and all its characteristics are embedded in a single file: Uranium.exe. This means that the program can be placed on a usb pen drive and can be executed without any installation.
